LONGFORD ASSOCIATION CHARITY GOLF DAY 2015

Around the time of the first tee-off at Clontarf in the early afternoon on Friday last, the bright, sunny skies were giving way to gathering clouds signalling the possibility at least of some showery weather. However, God was on the side of the Association's charity golf effort - as the skies regained their warm colour, remaining so for the remainder of the day - with the result that our loyal golfers only had to deal with a slight breeze which didn't in the end negatively affect play.

Ten teams of four participated which, although slightly down on last year, proceeds were well augmented by additional generous sponsorship. Speaking before the presentation of prizes, Association Life President Danny Donohoe, Chairperson Tony Gilleran and Dessie Kiernan thanked the teams and sponsors for their continuing and loyal support and assured them that the proceeds would go to a deserving charity in Longford, yet to be named. They also thanked Clontarf Golf Club and its President for hosting our event each year and of course congratulated the prize winners. Eamonn Mc Partland recorded the presentations with his trusty camera.
